Apaani, an Inupiaq word for "ancient times". This is the quality that you'll find in each piece in our galleries. Each art piece is handmade with care and has it's own unique qualities. Alaska Native Art is made of natural materials. We are hunters and gatherers. The natural materials used include walrus ivory, walrus bone, whale baleen, whale bone, caribou, reindeer, deer, or moose antler, as well as a variety of arctic furs. We take pride in utilizing all materials and resources provided to us by our creator. Qangircaq, Sugpiaq Dialect for "from long ago". We offer the traditions of our culture, now, to you.
